DmitarBerbatov is hoping that Manchester United will join the race to sign Phillips from Leeds United. DmitarBerbatov told Betfair that he expects teams to battle it out to sign English player Phillips from Leeds United.

Phillips was a key player for Leeds United as they secured promotion to the Premier League during the penultimate English Championship season. He was also an important player for the Whites who secured a top half finish at the end of the Premier League last season. Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa led the team to ninth place at the end of the latest league campaign in the top flight and Phillips was instrumental to the successes recorded during the same season.

DmitarBerbatov was impressed with the performances of Phillips in an England shirt at the just concluded Euro 2020 tournament. The Leeds United midfielder formed a twin partnership with West Ham United star Declan Rice as England reached the final of the tournament.

Leeds United star Phillips started the tournament by winning the man-of-the-match award in the opening game against Croatia. He was named the best player as England beat the Croatians 1-0 at the start of the Three Lions’ campaign in Group D. Manchester City attacker Raheem Sterling scored the lone goal for England during the game against Croatia. Phillips produced an assist for the goal scored by Sterling.

Kalvin Phillips and England reached the Euro 2020 final before they were beaten by Italy on penalties. Italy and England played out a 1-1 draw before the former edged the Three Lions 3-2 on penalties.
