Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is slowly and steadily working on his rebuild. After clearing out some players last term and deciding those that should remain, the coach is marching on with the rebuild.
David de Gea’s future is finally sorted with the new deal that ties him to the club. The Spaniard gets a massive deal and has his near future sorted out. Aside De Gea, OGS extended Victor Lindelof’s deal by five years. The Swede promised to help the club achieve greater heights, and win titles.
The bond in camp is believed to be very close as a youthful, talented team bond. The rebuild is steady and even more young players are set to join. United could add James Maddison as early as January when the window opens to strengthen the midfield options.
It seems like the middle and forward are the next targets as the goalkeeping and defence seem better sorted. Harry Maguire and Lindelof are at the back. AaronWan-Bissaka, Luke Shaw, Axel Tuanzebe and DiogoDalot are talented fullback options.
As OGS get options and tries to sort the middle, the forwards also need strengthening. Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial do not seem like a pair that can score as much goals as United would require in all fronts.
There were rumours that Jesse Lingard’s deal might be renewed after poor performance in the last seven months. However, this has not been confirmed. Lingard signed a £100,000 a week deal in 2017 but it doesn’t seem like a good time to extend as he is struggling with form and the fans have turned against him.
It doesn’t make sense to sell Lingard or ask him to go out on loan, so hopefully he turns his situation around before getting a new deal. There are still speculations that Jadon Sancho and WilfriedZaha could join United next term.
