BERBATOV SURPRISED BY SPURS DUO

Former Tottenham Hotspur, Bayer Leverkusen and Manchester United striker DmitarBerbatov has been surprised by the impact of the Tottenham Hotspur duo of Rodrigo Bentancur and DejanKulusevski who joined the North London club during the winter transfer window. DmitarBerbatov spoke about Kulusevski and Bentancur during the Monday Night Club on BBC earlier this week. The retired Bulgarian international pointed out that the two players were instrumental to Spurs getting a spot in the Champions League next season by finishing in fourth spot.

DmitarBerbatov has been surprised with the way the two players have adapted to Premier League football. Spurs signed Uruguayan midfielder Bentancur in a reported £16m deal, while Swedish winger Kulusevski joined on loan with the option for the club to sign him permanently. Bentancur formed a potent partnership with Danish international Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the Spurs midfield, while Kulusevski was part of a deadly front trio alongside Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min.

Kulusevski scored five goals and eight assists in 18 appearances including a brace during the 5-0 away win over bottom team Norwich City on the final day of the season some days ago. Bentancur provided for one of the Tottenham Hotspur goals during the Norwich game.

Spurs needed a point from the Norwich City game and they were able to secure the three points on offer in emphatic style. England international Kane scored the second goal of the game in the first half after Kulusevski had scored the first goal. Kulusevski completed his brace in the second half before Kulusevski added two more goals to make it a thrashing for the home team. With the final two goals, Son was able to share the Golden Boot award with Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah with the two players finishing the season on 23 goals. It was a first win for Son, while Salah has now won the award three times.
